Comparison of long-term intents of education and development in regions of Czech republic

In this work there is accomplished a comparison of long-term intentions of education and development of educational system in four regions of Czech republic - Jihocesky, Karlovarsky, Plzensky, Stredocesky. It's with aim to find how much are these intentions identical or different in chosen educational areas. The work compares fields - parity of opportunities to education, to support of foreign languages and informational and comunication technologies, also area of pedagogical workers and strategy of development individual levels of education according to demographical progress. At the same time, there is made the comparison of these long-term intentions of regions with long-term intentions of education and development of Czech republic.

The percetion of equality in the US

This thesis analyses the perception of equality in the United States in the context of today's high economic inequality. The main characteristic feature of this perception is the emphasis on the equality of opportunity. According to this ideal, America is the land of equal opportunity to achieve success, which depends on hard work and talent, not on family wealth. This concept is often considered as the opposite of the so-called equality of outcomes, which demands more even distribution of wealth, and which is usually perceived as foreign to American values. However, the large economic inequality, which is even much higher in America than in other advanced countries, has provably negative impacts on the general possibility of fair equal opportunity. Hence, the aim of this thesis is to verify the assumption that in the context of today's high and rising economic inequality, these negative impacts on the real state of equal opportunity must also find expression in the actual American perception of equality. Based on the analysis of an extensive set of public opinion surveys, it concludes that a certain change in the perception takes place. The situation of women on the labor market in Slovakia with focus on the women in managerial positions

The bachelor thesis deals with the issue of gender equality and equal opportunities on the labor market in Slovakia. The first part is theoretical an it defines basic concepts, which are necessary for understanding this issue. The theoretical basis is used for the practical part which is focused on women in managerial positions and it consists of two parts. The analysis assesses the condition in achieving gender equality in these positions in Slovakia in comparison with another EU country. The second part is the qualitative research, the interviews with the women working in managerial positions. The intention of this bachelor thesis is to map the area which is not given enough attention in Slovakia. The main objective is to assess the situation in gender equality in managerial positions in Slovakia, to find causes for the found facts and to propose solutions for improving the situation.

Women in Motorsport - Decoration? Competition?

This thesis deals with the issue of gender equality in motorsport. It aims to carry out two main tasks. The first is based on description and explanation of the current position of female racers in motorsport (are they considered a regular part of motorsport and do they constitute a competition for male racers, or are they just decorative anomalies?). Motorsport is one of the very few mixed sports. The second task is to answer the question whether it would be useful to establish separated women-only categories, which might attract more racers. The thesis consists of two key parts. The explanatory section of this text presents a theoretical explanation of the contemporary situation (using the theory of the lenses of gender). The empirical part is derived from expert interviews and interviews with top Czech female racers. The conclusion of the thesis is a compilation of findings provided by both parts of the text. The essential result is the need to preserve mixed competition which would be free of socio-cultural barriers which hinder the beginnings of women in motorsport.
